How to Enter
Files should be JPEGs, 1800 pixels on the longest side at 72 ppi, numbered consecutively before the photographer’s name and submitted without watermarks. The live application accepts image uploads or a ZIP file. Payment can be made online by PayPal or credit card, or applicants can submit the form and mail the confirmation with a check.
About the Jury
Wendi Schneider will jury the Beauty by A Smith Gallery. Her work combines photography with hand-applied precious metals and includes the ongoing States of Grace series. Her photographs are held in collections including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Center for Creative Photography and New Orleans Museum of Art. Judging is blind: files are renamed and numbered before each entry is viewed as a group in its submitted order.

Images previously exhibited in an A Smith Gallery competition are not eligible. The gallery says it currently prefers not to accept images created with Artificial Intelligence because of copyright uncertainty and ongoing litigation. All exhibition images are listed in the online store, where the gallery retains 30% of the sales price.
Copyright and Image Usage
Photographers retain full rights to their images. The gallery may use images for publicity, the online gallery and store, the exhibition catalogue and The 27. The online exhibition and GalleryTalk are permanently archived. Sublicensing and third-party rights are not stated, and no general license duration is published beyond that archive provision.
