Contest Type

Vibrant Colors by Ten Moir Gallery puts color in the foreground, asking artists to work with bold palettes, unexpected contrasts and luminous harmonies. Photography is accepted alongside painting, sculpture, mixed media and digital work, making the challenge broad in medium but specific in visual direction. Entries close on October 31, 2026, with results scheduled for November 18.

The first image can be submitted free, while larger entries use a tiered fee structure for up to ten works. Best in Show receives $150, an artist interview, a Moir mini spotlight, homepage placement and a free entry to the Blue Sky Artist Award. Photography also has a dedicated runner-up distinction. For photographers following our photo contest calendar, the format offers a low-barrier first entry combined with several levels of online recognition beyond the principal award.

Finalists receive permanent listings, digital certificates and social media highlights, while all selected artists are included in a curated collection with their name, artwork title and link. The challenge is international and open to entrants aged 18 or over. Within photography, there is no required genre: the central consideration is how convincingly color becomes part of the image’s visual language.

Prizes

The Vibrant Colors by Ten Moir Gallery recognizes Best in Show, separate traditional and photography runners-up, finalists and the wider group of selected artists. Only the principal award carries a stated cash prize.

  • Best in Show: Receives a $150 cash prize, an artist interview, The Moir mini spotlight feature, homepage placement and a free entry to the Blue Sky Artist Award.
  • Photography Runner Up: Receives a website feature, dedicated social media post, Art Journal mini spotlight and free entry to the Blue Sky Artist Award. A separate Traditional Runner Up receives equivalent recognition.
  • Finalists: The Top 15–20 receive a permanent listing, digital certificate and social media highlights.
  • All selected artists: Their name, artwork title and link appear on the curated collection page.

Participants may also receive visibility through Ten Moir channels and partner listings, while badges and certificates provide additional assets for websites and social media.

Categories

Vibrant Colors by Ten Moir Gallery does not divide photographic submissions into separate categories. The single theme revolves around color itself: bold palettes, striking combinations, surprising contrasts and luminous harmonies.

That leaves considerable freedom in subject matter. A photograph may approach the brief through people, objects, constructed scenes or less literal visual forms. Work closer to abstract photography contests, for example, can use relationships between shape and color as the primary subject, while more representational images can build their interpretation around the chromatic character of a scene.

The judging criteria place interpretation of the theme alongside craftsmanship, presentation, composition, creativity and technical skill, so color needs to function as more than a superficial addition to the submitted image.

Dates and Entry Fees

The Vibrant Colors by Ten Moir Gallery opened during the summer and remains open through the end of October, followed by judging and the November results announcement.

Additional works can be added through the same application using the following pricing tiers:

  • 2 images: $18
  • 3 images: $25
  • 4 images: $36
  • 5 images: $45
  • 6–10 images: $55

Only one free entry is permitted per artist.

How to Enter

Applications are made through the online submission form. Entrants provide their artist name, website, artwork titles and media information before uploading their files and confirming the entry.

Images must be submitted as JPG or PNG files, under 3MB and at least 2,000 pixels on the longest side. Photography and digital work are explicitly accepted, and entrants must own the rights to all work and imagery they submit.

The Vibrant Colors by Ten Moir Gallery is open internationally to artists aged 18 or over. Additional images can be included within the same application rather than submitted through separate forms.

Why Enter Vibrant Colors by Ten Moir Gallery?

The strongest feature for photographers is the simplicity of the brief. Color provides the connecting idea, but there is no requirement to photograph a particular subject or work within a specific photographic genre. That makes it possible to select an existing image with a strong chromatic identity or develop work specifically around the challenge without adapting it to a narrow category definition.

Among popular photo challenges, the recognition structure is also worth separating into its different levels. Best in Show receives the cash award and main editorial features, photography has its own runner-up recognition, and the Top 15–20 finalists retain permanent listings. Selected artists beyond those positions still appear in the curated collection.

The free first submission reduces the commitment required to have one photograph considered. Artists with a broader body of suitable work can then move into the fixed multi-image tiers, with the largest package allowing up to ten entries.

We reviewed the official rules of the Vibrant Colors by Ten Moir Gallery to summarize the key participation requirements, copyright terms and image usage conditions. Before entering, we recommend checking the complete rules published by the organizer.

Relevant rights extend to specified affiliates and advertising or promotional agencies involved in the awards. The terms permit publication with or without name credit and include a waiver of moral rights to the extent allowed by applicable law. Entrants must have the necessary ownership or licensed rights for everything included in their submissions and obtain appropriate releases when identifiable people or protected third-party material require permission.
