The Categories of the Color Awards 2026
Color Awards 2026 is a single-theme competition: rather than dividing submissions by genre, it welcomes every approach to color photography within one unified field. There are no subcategories—each image is considered according to its vision, intention, execution and use of color.
Subtle and restrained palettes are accepted alongside bold, vibrant and highly expressive work. Photographs may come from different genres and creative backgrounds, provided that color plays a meaningful role in the atmosphere, structure or emotional effect of the image.

Entry Fees:

There is no limit to the number of submissions, but each submission requires a separate registration and payment. Collectives and duos may apply, with one person completing the form as the main contact.
How to Enter:
- Select a submission package of 3, 6 or 12 images.
- Complete the online form with the required personal information.
- Prepare the images as JPG files at 72 dpi and a minimum of 1200 px on the longest side.
- Place all images in a single compressed .ZIP folder identified with the author’s first and last name.
- Optionally include a brief descriptive text in the same folder.
- Upload the folder and complete payment by card or PayPal before 15 October 2026.
Fragmented submissions or individual files sent outside the compressed folder will not be accepted. The system will send an automatic confirmation once the material has been received.
About the Jury
Jeff Schewe (USA) – Photographer of the Year in the Color Awards 2025, Jeff combines decades of advertising photography with extensive knowledge of digital imaging and fine-art printing, bringing a strong technical perspective to the jury.
Hardijanto Budiman (Indonesia) – Photographer of the Year in the Color Awards 2023, Hardijanto develops conceptual narratives influenced by surrealism, imagination and personal experience.
Yevhen Kostiuk (Ukraine) – Photographer of the Year in the Color Awards 2024, Yevhen is known for minimalist aerial photography that transforms landscapes into abstract compositions through geometry and color.
Christophe Demigné (France) – Photographer of the Year in the Color Awards 2022, Christophe draws on forgotten architecture and cinematic atmosphere to create images shaped by memory, light and narrative.
The jury brings together previous Color Awards winners from commercial, conceptual, aerial and architectural photography. Rules
- Submissions must contain 3, 6 or 12 JPG images, according to the selected package.

- All images must be placed in one compressed .ZIP folder identified with the author’s first and last name.
- A brief explanatory text may be included, but it is optional and does not influence the evaluation.
- Previously published or awarded images are eligible, provided the entrant retains the required rights.
- There is no restriction on when the photographs were created.
- Multiple submissions and applications from collectives or duos are accepted, although each submission requires its own form and payment.
- Refunds are limited to duplicate payments or technical errors reported within 48 hours, and are unavailable once the submitted folder has been opened.
Copyright and Image Usage
- Entrants retain ownership and copyright of their photographs before, during and after the selection process.
- Photographers must own the submitted work and hold any permissions required for identifiable people, private property, architecture, artworks or other protected material shown in the images.
- Entrants grant Dodho Magazine a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide and revocable licence to host, archive, display and communicate submitted work through its website, digital editions and official communication channels for editorial, cultural and promotional purposes.
- The licence may be revoked with at least 15 days’ written notice, unless the work has already been printed or is in the immediate printing process.
- Use in printed publications or commercial products requires explicit permission or a separate written agreement with the copyright holder.
- Dodho may crop, resize or adapt images for layout and technical consistency, provided that the integrity and meaning of the work are not altered.
- Published photographs are credited to their authors.
