What if your art could redefine boundaries and be celebrated on a global stage? The Lumen Prize 2025 is calling for extraordinary artists who are pushing the limits of contemporary art through technology. This global competition is renowned for championing innovative digital art and creating significant opportunities for selected artists.

Since its launch in 2012, The Lumen Prize has become a leader in recognizing the finest art created with technology. For 2025, The Lumen Prize features nine award categories, each with a $2,000 prize, spanning diverse areas of digital innovation. A standout category is Still Image, which specifically welcomes digital artworks in fixed form, including photography, digital painting, illustration, and AI-generated imagery. Deartline lists many of the best online photography challenges available, and The Lumen Prize is a prime example in the digital art space.

Beyond the individual category prizes, one exceptional work across all categories will be awarded the prestigious Lumen Prize Gold Award, which in 2025 comes with a significant $12,000 prize. The total prize fund for the 2025 competition is $30,000. Submissions are open from January 31st to May 23rd, 2025, with a paid entry fee structure. The Lumen Prize connects visionary artists with global cultural institutions through its extensive network, offering opportunities for exhibitions, commissions, and events worldwide.

The Lumen Prize 2025 Prizes

Prizes are also awarded to the winner of each of the nine categories:

In addition, being selected as a finalist or winner in The Lumen Prize competition brings significant opportunities for exposure and recognition through the global Lumen Network, connecting artists with cultural institutions for potential exhibitions, commissions, and events. Lumen is a non-profit organization, and all revenue supports the competition, prizes, and artist opportunities.
