How to Enter

About the Jury
The On Rose: Photo Contest 2026 jury consists of Bay Area photographers Becky Jaffe, Sarah Deragon and Brandon Ruffin. Eligible images are presented anonymously: judges do not see the photographer’s name, contact details, contribution amount, Order # or AI disclosure information.
Judging gives 40% of the score to interpretation of Rose, 40% to visual voice and emotional resonance, and 20% to photographic execution. The judges select the overall winner, category winners, runners-up and honorable mentions.

Rules
The contest is open to legal residents of the United States aged 18 or older. Each person may enter once and submit up to three photographs. Older photographs are eligible, but every image must be original work that began as a real-world photographic capture made by the entrant.
AI-assisted editing is permitted only when disclosed and when the photograph remains substantially grounded in the entrant’s original capture. Prompt-generated, fully synthetic or substantially fabricated images are not eligible. Looking Glass may request original files or editing information where necessary to verify compliance.
Copyright and Image Usage
Entrants retain copyright to their photographs. Submission grants Looking Glass a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, display, exhibit, publish, distribute, promote and archive entered photographs solely in connection with On Rose and its results.
Permitted uses include the Looking Glass website, social media, email, contest and exhibition materials, press outreach and related communications. Looking Glass states that submitted photographs will not be used for unrelated commercial purposes without separate permission from the photographer.
