The Travel Photographer of the Year 2024 (TPOTY 2024) contest is back, calling photographers globally to exhibit their talent and creativity. For both seasoned professionals and passionate amateurs, TPOTY offers a stage to display their unique viewpoint through compelling images.
TPOTY 2024 includes four portfolio categories: “Faces, People, Cultures”, “Planet Earth – landscape, climate & water”, “Travel in Monochrome” and “Wildlife, Nature & Underwater”. It also has four categories for one-shot images: “Cities, Towns and Streets”, “Escape”, “Festivals and Celebrations” and “Women in World Cultures” plus Rising Talent Award. And a special category for young photographers.
Ten winners os the Travel Photographer of the Year 2024 will be awarded a cash prize, imaging software, photography training, membership to the Royal Photographic Society, and a portfolio review by a judge. Among them, two will also receive a review from photography agent Frank Meo and the opportunity to join the awards’ mentoring program as Rising Star winners.
Travel Photographer of the Year 2024 is a fee-based contest, so participants must pay an entry fee based on the number of images submitted.
A panel of esteemed judges, including renowned photographers and industry experts, will evaluate the submissions. The judging process adheres to strict guidelines, ensuring fairness and transparency.

The Travel Photographer of the Year 2024 prizes
The TPOTY 2024 offers a generous prize pool to celebrate and reward the talents of close-up photographers. The overall winner of the competition will receive The coveted title of Travel Photographer of the Year 2024. But there are many more prizes:

The winner of this category will receive a £2000 cash prize plus a portfolio review by a leading New York photographer’s agent, Frank Meo, plus Radiant Photo imaging software.

The 10 winners in this Travel Photographer of the Year 2024 category will receive £100 each, plus Radiant Photo image processing software and online photo training.
Your vote – People’s Choice
The judging panel for these Travel Photographer of the Year 2024 will choose a selection of images from the finalists, which will be displayed on our website in December for the public to vote on. The winner will receive a selection of TPOTY books, cards and prints, as well as membership to Eye for the Light.

Travel Photographer of the Year 2024 has different prices depending on which categories you participate in. Here is the complete fee list.
- Young Travel Photographer of the Year – FREE
- Portfolio of four images – £22 per entry
- 2 x Portfolio of 4 images – £34 if submitted at the same time
- Emerging Talent Award – 25
- One Shot – £12 per entry
- Two Plus Four’ 12 image combination of 4 One Shot entries and 2 portfolios of four images submitted at the same time – £55
- Ten Image Combination’ of between six and ten One Shot images – £55
- Any entrant over the age of 19 who submits 2 or more portfolios in any combination of portfolio categories will be automatically eligible for the Travel Photographer of the Year 2024 award.
