There are special categories dedicated to young photographers under the age of 18, as well as an “Audience Award” that invites public participation in the celebration of photography. The Nature and Humans Photography Competition 2024 categories and prizes
The competition has more than 13,000 euros in prizes, with more than 9,000 euros in cash. It is, therefore, one of the most generous competitions on the Spanish and international circuit. In addition, its 14 categories distribute these prizes in a very wide range. We leave you with the list of the categories and the prizes assigned to each one of them:
- Special Category 01 “Conservation Photography – thematic series” The winning series: €1,500. Runner-up series: €500.
- Special Category 02 “Conservation Photography – single image” The winning image: €1,500. Runner-up: €500.
- Special Category 03 “Conservation Photography – Spain” The winning image: €1,500. Runner-up €500.
- Special Category 04 “Nature, told by Women”. The winning story €1,500 and will receive coverage in the MOTHER magazine in 2025. Runner-up €500.
- Special Category 05 “The Beauty of the Planet”. The winning image: €1,000 euros voucher offered by Wildwatching Spain.
- Special Category 06 “The beauty of Spain”. The winning image: €500 voucher offered by Wildwatching Spain.
- Thematic Category 07 – Mammals. The winning image: SONY photographic equipment, offered by SONY Spain (The RRP will exceed €1,500).
- Thematic Category 08 – Birds. The winning image: The winning image: €500 voucher for photographic material at Fotografiarte.
- Thematic Category 09 – Oceans. The winning image: €350 euros.

All category-winning images and all Runner-Up and Finalist images will be published in a gallery on the Competition’s web platform and in the printed catalogue of the Nature and Humans Photography Competition 2024.

- 24th May 2024 – Opening of the submission period of the Competition.
- 4th August 2024 (23:59h) – First deadline for submission of photographs.
- 25th August 2024 (23:59h) – Extended date for photo submissions.
- 2nd September 2024 – Request for RAW of the images in the final round.
- 15th September 2024 (23:59h) – Deadline for RAW submission.
- Until 6th October 2024 – Deliberations, voting, Jury’s decision.
- Last days of October 2024 – Announcement of winning images (except the winner of the Popular Vote).
- October-December 2024 – The People’s Choice Award is announced.
