Absolute Winner:
Haikun Liang – “Destroy together”
The title of Absolute Winner went to Haikun Liang for his powerful photograph, “Destroy together,” which captures a vibrant moment during the Spring Festival in China. The image shows a young man holding firecrackers amidst an explosion, symbolizing the cultural tradition of “frying lions” to ward off evil spirits and pray for peace. This stunning photograph earned Liang a €1,000 prize, solidifying its place as one of the most evocative images of the competition.
Special Prize for Creativity by SanDisk Professional: László Tóth – “Spiral to the tower”
László Tóth won the Special Prize for Creativity with his innovative image, “Spiral to the tower.” The photograph, which depicts a flock of birds forming a spiral, stands out for its conceptual creativity and technical excellence, making it a deserving winner of the SanDisk Professional PRO-G40 SSD.

Portrait:
Van Dong Nguyen – “Pottery village girl”
An artisan from Bau Truc village, Vietnam, is portrayed with deep cultural and emotional resonance, highlighting the UNESCO-recognized craft of handmade pottery.
Fauna and Flora:
Anup Shah – “Explosion”
A dynamic shot of wildebeests in a frenzy during their migration, embodying the raw power and urgency of nature.
Landscape:
Matteo Strassera – “The Dune”
A serene and sculptural depiction of desert dunes, capturing the endless beauty and solitude of the landscape.
Each of these photographers will be rewarded with €150, along with the exposure and prestige that comes with winning this award.
