The Nature Photographer of the Year 2024 contest invites all nature photography enthusiasts, both professional and non-professional, to showcase their talent and passion for capturing the beauty of our planet. The world is brimming with natural wonders, and there’s no better way to celebrate this than through the lens of a camera.

Now in its ninth year, the contest, powered by the Nature Talks Photo Festival in the Netherlands, has become a global platform for photographers of all ages. It’s not just about winning; it’s about sharing the most amazing images of nature, fostering love for our environment, and contributing to its protection.

The contest is open to residents of every country, with categories catering to different interests. From birds and mammals to landscapes and underwater scenes, there’s a category for every nature lover. There’s even a special category for young photographers between 10-17 years, encouraging the younger generation to develop an appreciation for nature.

The contest offers an opportunity to win a total prize of €25,000, with many large cash prizes. The overall winner will receive €3,000, and category winners will receive €500. But the rewards go beyond monetary gain. By entering the contest, participants also support nature conservation efforts through the Nature Talks Foundation.

Participants can submit their best pictures from this year, last year, or even years back. The contest values respect for the subject and the environment. Images of pets, captive animals, and cultivated plants are not permitted. The focus is on unrestricted nature, showing the world as it truly is.

The contest is open until June 2nd, 2024. Participants can take advantage of the early bird discount until May 19th. After this date, the entry fee will increase by 10%. To enter, participants need to register, pay the entry fee, and then they can upload their photos.

The Nature Photographer of the Year contest is more than just a competition; it’s a celebration of the beauty of nature and a call to protect it. So, grab your camera, step into the great outdoors, and let your creativity shine. Who knows? You might just become the Nature Photographer of the Year 2024!
